The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Domenico Bianchi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Enrico Vespucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes Mondello got a freekick which was hit by Ennio Egger. Fulvio De Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Adriano Colucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Musacchio got free with Cristiano Di Sante in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fulvio Russi's late challenge caught a Mondello's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulvio Russi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Farneto AFC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Fulvio Russi hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enrico Vespucci to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Farneto AFC's Fulvio De Rossi got a free kick in the 54th minute. After some careless play in the Farneto AFC defense, Attilio Tucci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristiano Di Sante. The Farneto AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Di Sante should have stopped the shot. Enrico Vespucci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Adriano Colucci made a huge save. In the 62nd minute, Ennio Egger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fulvio De Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Adriano Colucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enrico Vespucci might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adriano Colucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrico Vespucci ran back to his position shaking his head. After 85 played minutes Mondello got a freekick which was hit by Ennio Egger. Fulvio De Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Mondello's Adriano Colucci got control of the ball when Fulvio De Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mondello were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Farneto AFC for a fine match.
