Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ernesto Bertoni took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Ernesto Bertoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Villamarina's Franco Tesone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Sabatini in the 11th minute of play. Franco Tesone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Primavera in the 18th minute of play. If Ercole Sabatini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Villamarina defense, Fabiano Primavera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franco Tesone. The Villamarina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franco Tesone should have stopped the shot. Ernesto Bertoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Aurelio Caroli dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Biagio Fracassi, 1-1. After 38 played minutes Piccarello got a freekick which was hit by Cosimo Santini. In the 39th minute, Ernesto Bertoni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Biagio Fracassi was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Franco Tesone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Primavera, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ercole Sabatini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabiano Primavera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Franco Tesone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Piccarello's Franco Tesone threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ercole Sabatini, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Villamarina's goalie and right to Ettore Cruciani. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Villamarina's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Villamarina's Franco Tesone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Sabatini in the 57th minute of play. Fabiano Primavera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Franco Tesone made a huge save. When Aurelio Caroli came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Villamarina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelio Caroli couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Biagio Giardino during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Biagio Giardino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franco Tesone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ercole Sabatini, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Piccarello's goalkeeper Biagio Fracassi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernesto Bertoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Biagio Fracassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurelio Caroli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Biagio Fracassi having to interfere. The supporters of Villamarina booed when Piccarello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia Lattanzio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piccarello's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
