The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fedele Molinari kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Andrea Malinconico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carmine Burgnich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amerigo Sciarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fontana AFC's goalkeeper Carmine Burgnich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eugenio Gulli hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Andrea Malinconico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ercole Cericola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Apicella having to interfere. If Alvise Cannata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Andrea Malinconico came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Lunghezza AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrea Malinconico couldn't finish the play. Amerigo Sciarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Carmine Burgnich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fontana AFC's zone, Andrea Malinconico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmine Burgnich came out of the goal and Andrea Malinconico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florian Di Claudio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carmine Burgnich having to make a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Federico Saturno made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Fontana AFC's zone, Amerigo Sciarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmine Burgnich came out of the goal and Amerigo Sciarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Amerigo Sciarra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Apicella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvise Cannata in the 63rd minute of the match. Antonello Pugliese hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Federico Penna charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Penna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 66 played minutes Fontana AFC got a freekick which was hit by Federico Penna. Andrea Malinconico scored 0-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carmine Burgnich, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alvise Cannata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Lunghezza AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Saturno came free, but Augusto Apicella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fontana AFC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Fedele Molinari hit a great ball. Fedele Molinari charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fedele Molinari the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, Fedele Molinari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fontana AFC's Alvise Cannata got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Augusto Apicella stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvise Cannata's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute Alvise Cannata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Apicella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lunghezza AFC played a much better game than Fontana AFC and deserved their victory. The Fontana AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
