Certosa's Armin Bolli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Certosa from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the match, Certosa's goalkeeper Armin Bolli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrico Di Lorenzo. 20 minutes into the game, Ernesto Marcantonio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Certosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pilastrello the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Certosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Marcantonio to maneuver through the defense. When Antonio Sforza fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pilastrello's protests and gave Antonio Sforza a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pilastrello's Antonio Sforza got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Fabrizio Marinucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Marinucci blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniele Vettori having to make a save. Enrico Di Lorenzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armin Bolli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Enrico Di Lorenzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armin Bolli having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Demetrio Di Maio to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Cesare Clemente sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pilastrello's Daniele Vettori didn't even have to move. The crowd rose to their feet as Certosa's Demetrio Di Maio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Daniele Vettori. That made the score 1-1 after 60 minutes of play. Demetrio Di Maio struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Daniele Vettori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Certosa. In the 64th match minute, Pilastrello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Lenzi to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the game, Fabrizio Marinucci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Daniele Vettori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 70 minutes, Cesare Ferreri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Certosa and the Pilastrello players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Certosa got a freekick which was hit by Cesare Ferreri. After 73 played minutes Certosa got a freekick which was hit by Carmine Salvagnin. After 74 played minutes, Pilastrello's Achille Lucidi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armin Bolli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pilastrello reached it. When Pilastrello's Antonello Piacentini in 76 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Armin Bolli guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Armin Bolli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Piacentini in the 77th minute of play. Fabrizio Marinucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Daniele Vettori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Bruno Pascucci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabrizio Marinucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniele Vettori having to interfere. Fabio Lenzi kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Demetrio Di Maio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Armin Bolli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Piacentini in the 95th minute of play. The Pilastrello fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Certosa were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
