Concetto Pantani might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Di Claudio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Concetto Pantani ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alex Crispino fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valleandona's protests and gave Alex Crispino a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes Valleandona got a freekick which was hit by Alex Crispino. In the 9th minute, Enzo Graziani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arrigo Bonsignore was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A hard shot by Beppe Festa from long distance, 15 minutes into the match, got Ernesto Di Claudio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Eraldo De Grandis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ercole Lusi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Porporana's Ernesto Di Claudio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Porporana from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd match minute, Porporana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eraldo De Grandis to maneuver through the defense. Concetto Pantani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Di Claudio having to interfere. Ercole Lusi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arrigo Bonsignore having to interfere. Arrigo Bonsignore made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 48 minutes into the match, Valleandona's goal looked a bit too open when Ercole Lusi came free, but Arrigo Bonsignore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felice Mandara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ernesto Di Claudio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Concetto Pantani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute Felice Mandara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Di Claudio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ercole Lusi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Porporana's supporters rose to their feet, but Ercole Lusi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arrigo Bonsignore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes into the match, Valleandona's goalkeeper Arrigo Bonsignore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enzo Graziani. With his leg Arrigo Bonsignore managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Porporana's Enzo Graziani fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Felice Mandara came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Valleandona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felice Mandara couldn't finish the play. Ercole Lusi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Arrigo Bonsignore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ercole Lusi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Pantani in the 89th minute of play forced Porporana's goalkeeper Ernesto Di Claudio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Concetto Pantani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Felice Mandara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ernesto Di Claudio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Porporana eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
