The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Gargallo's goalkeeper Christian Marsilio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amos Santoro. After a defensive mix-up in Casanola FC's zone, Augusto Romanese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristoforo Papetti came out of the goal and Augusto Romanese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Concetto Piretti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristoforo Papetti having to interfere. Ernesto Arcari hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Concetto Piretti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristoforo Papetti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Piretti in the 11th minute of play forced Casanola FC's goalkeeper Cristoforo Papetti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 14 in the game by Amos Santoro from a close distance when the talented Christian Marsilio managed to make a qualified save. Gargallo's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Casanola FC's Fabiano Grandis got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute of the match Cesare Soccio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristoforo Papetti skillfully saved the ball. Cristoforo Papetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Romanese in the 21st minute of the match. Alvaro Menichini was extremely unlucky when he, in the 25th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Augusto Romanese struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Cristoforo Papetti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gargallo. When Eraldo Cesarini fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gargallo's protests and gave Eraldo Cesarini a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Eraldo Cesarini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Gargallo getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Cristiano Sciotto hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francesco Spinosa during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francesco Spinosa kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Christian Marsilio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvaro Menichini's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Christian Marsilio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alvaro Menichini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play.

Cristoforo Papetti made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Concetto Piretti sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amos Santoro in the 55th minute of play forced Gargallo's goalkeeper Christian Marsilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th match minute, Gargallo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Demetrio Marcelli to maneuver through the defense. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Concetto Piretti couldn't finish the play. In the 85th match minute, Casanola FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Grandis to maneuver through the defense. Cesare Soccio shot from long distance in the 86th minute, but Cristoforo Papetti was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 88th minute of the match Ernesto Coviello shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristoforo Papetti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Amos Santoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gargallo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
