Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute, Attilio Di Rocco fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cristoforo Papetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attilio Di Rocco in the 6th minute of the match. Alessandro Formaggio hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute of the match Fausto Macchia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Zinni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Diego Mauro charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Mauro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Amos Santoro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Zinni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Casanola FC's zone, Andrea Marinucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristoforo Papetti came out of the goal and Andrea Marinucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 minutes, Fabiano Grandis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Casanola FC and the Santa Caterina players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Casanola FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Grandis. 31 minutes into the match, Santa Caterina's Alessandro Formaggio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 35th minute, Casanola FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Andrea Marinucci fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Andrea Marinucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 41 minutes into the game, Casanola FC's Alvaro Menichini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Zinni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Andrea Marinucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Attilio Di Rocco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Casanola FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alvaro Menichini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Menichini in the 53rd minute of play forced Santa Caterina's goalkeeper Donato Zinni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Santa Caterina's Andrea Marinucci in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Casanola FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 61st match minute, Santa Caterina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Formaggio to maneuver through the defense. Edoardo Mandara's late challenge caught a Casanola FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edoardo Mandara helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Santa Caterina's Edoardo Mandara got a free kick in the 67th minute. Amos Santoro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato Zinni having to make a save. Alvaro Menichini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Zinni having to interfere. Edoardo Mandara kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Amos Santoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Zinni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Santa Caterina's Andrea Marinucci sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristoforo Papetti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrea Marinucci in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristoforo Papetti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Donato Zinni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Menichini in the 90th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Casanola FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea Marinucci came free, but Cristoforo Papetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Santa Caterina supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Casanola FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Casanola FC.
