After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Aurelio Di Girolamo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Excenex AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Di Girolamo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Betti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alfonso Gabriele fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Excenex AFC's protests and gave Alfonso Gabriele a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Excenex AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Gabriele to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emiliano Leone during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emiliano Leone hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Alberto Iovine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelio Di Girolamo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Aurelio Di Francesco took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carter Oroni. Carter Oroni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 39 minutes into the game, Aurelio Di Francesco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Carter Oroni was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alberto Iovine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Carter Oroni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Excenex AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mezzanino were winning 0-3.
The wind increased when Aurelio Di Girolamo made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Andrea Rocco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carter Oroni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Di Girolamo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fausto Betti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurelio Di Girolamo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Excenex AFC booed when Mezzanino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Rocco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Aurelio Di Francesco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mezzanino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelio Di Francesco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 played minutes Excenex AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Crema. In the 79th minute of the match Fabio Braccia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carter Oroni skillfully saved the ball. Aurelio Di Francesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carter Oroni having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Di Francesco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carter Oroni was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Alberto Iovine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Di Francesco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carter Oroni was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. If Emiliano Leone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mezzanino eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
