Alberto Iovines short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Diego Rosetta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Virgiliana's goalkeeper Diego Rosetta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Mezzanino's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Antonelli came free, but Fausto Betti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Anselmo Roberto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto Betti. Mezzanino's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anselmo Roberto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Fausto Betti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Antonelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Andrea Rocco suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 20 minutes of play Virgiliana's Amedeo Porta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 21st match minute, Virgiliana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amedeo Porta to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Iovine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Rosetta having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Iovine got free with Diego Rosetta in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Iovine struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Diego Rosetta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mezzanino. In the 40th match minute, Virgiliana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Giannetta to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Alberto Iovine fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.

After 54 played minutes Virgiliana got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Colonna. Alberto Iovine struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Diego Rosetta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mezzanino. After some careless play in the Virgiliana defense, Alberto Iovine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Rosetta. The Virgiliana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Rosetta should have stopped the shot. Anselmo Roberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Mezzanino getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Aurelio Di Francesco hit a great ball. Fausto Betti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Roberto in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute, Alberto Iovine made a precise shot to the right of Diego Rosetta. Virgiliana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Federico Antonelli charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Antonelli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anselmo Roberto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Fausto Betti made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Mezzanino's zone, Anselmo Roberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Betti came out of the goal and Anselmo Roberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Iovine struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Diego Rosetta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mezzanino. Mezzanino's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
