Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Comunardo Guerra got the match started through his kick off. Enrico Pelusi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Ponticella FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amedeo Di Fabio came free, but Fausto Varglien reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ponticella FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Camillo Belfiore hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ponticella FC's zone, Cesare Verdini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Varglien came out of the goal and Cesare Verdini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesare Verdini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fausto Varglien read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After 21 minutes, Ennio Russo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponticella FC and the Borello players grew even worse after the yellow card. Comunardo Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Basilico having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Borello's Adriano Mattei got a free kick in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Comunardo Guerra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Achille Basilico, 1-0. In the 42nd minute, Adriano Mattei made a precise shot to the right of Fausto Varglien. Ponticella FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Achille Basilico came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponticella FC's Enrico Pelusi. But to his dismay, Enrico Pelusi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesare Verdini was the one to do the kick off. Achille Basilico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrico Pelusi in the 52nd minute of the match. Cesare Verdini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amedeo Di Fabio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Ponticella FC's zone, Amedeo Di Fabio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Varglien came out of the goal and Amedeo Di Fabio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amedeo Di Fabio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Varglien having to interfere. Comunardo Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 played minutes, Ponticella FC's Amedeo Cavallaro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Achille Basilico came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ponticella FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Comunardo Guerra in the 77th minute of play forced Borello's goalkeeper Achille Basilico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borello's goalkeeper Achille Basilico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enrico Pelusi might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Achille Basilico. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrico Pelusi ran back to his position shaking his head. Amedeo Di Fabio struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Fausto Varglien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borello. Ponticella FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
