Daniele Pennetta might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augusto Lelli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Montagna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Cene's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Montagna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Lelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bernardo Montagna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Lelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Montagna, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Bernardo Montagna managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the referee ended the match the Cene players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
