After 8 played minutes Olgiate Olona got a freekick which was hit by Felice Garofoli. 17 minutes into the game, Felice Garofoli recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Camillo Sardella. Felice Garofoli showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Aurelio Guaita hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Cosimo Gori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Camillo Sardella managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Olgiate Olona's Cosimo Gori fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Camillo Sardella made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Cosimo Gori sent off a good shot on target. Felice Garofoli struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Camillo Sardella didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olgiate Olona. Biagio Della Rocca might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Caligaris. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Biagio Della Rocca ran back to his position shaking his head. 38 minutes into the match, Aurelio Guaita notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Olgiate Olona's Donato Caligaris. Donato Caligaris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

53 minutes in the game, Aurelio Guaita fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Donato Caligaris having to interfere. A hard shot 55 in the game by Biagio Della Rocca from a close distance when the talented Donato Caligaris managed to make a qualified save. Olgiate Olona's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosimo Gori in the 57th minute of play forced Cotignola FC's goalkeeper Camillo Sardella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonello Natale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Camillo Sardella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felice Garofoli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camillo Sardella took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Garofoli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute Cosimo Gori shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camillo Sardella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosimo Gori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Sardella having to interfere. Camillo Sardella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Garofoli in the 75th minute of play. If Felice Garofoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Cotignola FC's Aurelio Guaita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. A collision led to Cotignola FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Alex Gallo hit a great ball. Cosimo Gori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Sardella having to interfere. Chants of Cotignola FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Olgiate Olona had held the ball for most of the match.
