Malandriano FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Dave Gerola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dave Cavallucci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuele Gerola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Valgatara FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Granata. Alex Capaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuele Gerola having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Valgatara FC's Ciro Granata got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 19th match minute, Malandriano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ettore Camerlengo to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st match minute, Valgatara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Della Rocca to maneuver through the defense. When Dave Gerola came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Valgatara FC fans jumped to their feet. In the 36th minute, Ettore Camerlengo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Malandriano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Gerola came free, but Daniele Petrosino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Dave Cavallucci notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Valgatara FC's Emanuele Gerola. Emanuele Gerola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado Pacella in the 47th minute of play forced Malandriano FC's goalkeeper Daniele Petrosino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute Ferruccio Gigli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Gerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvise Tondi hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Valgatara FC's Emanuele Gerola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferruccio Gigli in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of Malandriano FC booed when Valgatara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corrado Pacella didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferruccio Gigli's late challenge caught a Valgatara FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferruccio Gigli helped the player get up and apologised. Ernesto Gori hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Daniele Petrosino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Della Rocca in the 83rd minute. Dave Gerola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Valgatara FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
