Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Enrico Di Francesco started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Borganzo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Achille Sammartino came free, but Claudio Esposito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th minute, Enrico Di Francesco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malagrotta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fortunato Losito made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Arrigo De Carolis sent off a good shot on target. Flavio Contestabile charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavio Contestabile the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, one of Malagrotta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Malagrotta. In the 19th match minute, Malagrotta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrico Di Francesco to maneuver through the defense. Arrigo De Carolis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Fortunato Losito made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Augusto Giansante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fortunato Losito was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Claudio Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achille Sammartino in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Malagrotta's Achille Sammartino got a free kick in the 35th minute. Claudio Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrico Di Francesco in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Borganzo AFC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Dave Caneva hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Enrico Di Francesco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Giansante made a kick off. Achille Bassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fortunato Losito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Giansante in the 58th minute of play. Fortunato Losito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arrigo De Carolis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Giansante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fortunato Losito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After 64 minutes, Davide Volta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malagrotta and the Borganzo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Malagrotta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Volta to maneuver through the defense. After 70 minutes of play, Malagrotta's Achille Sammartino made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudio Esposito was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 78 played minutes Malagrotta got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Onori. In the 79th minute, Cesare Santone sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Malagrotta's Fortunato Losito didn't even have to move. Fortunato Losito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Giansante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo De Carolis in the 82nd minute of play forced Malagrotta's goalkeeper Fortunato Losito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arrigo De Carolis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Borganzo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrico Di Francesco came free, but Claudio Esposito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Augusto Giansante struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Fortunato Losito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borganzo AFC. The Malagrotta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Malagrotta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
