The supporters of Tetti Pesio booed when Piani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Rotili didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Franco Pedroni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Nicolini took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eraldo Allemandi. Eraldo Allemandi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Tetti Pesio's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Nicolini came free, but Eraldo Allemandi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Ubriaco struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Biagio Ferretti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tetti Pesio. In the 20th minute, Arturo Abbagnale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franco Pedroni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Biagio Ferretti having to interfere. Piani's Biagio Ferretti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Piani from getting a goal against them. After 43 minutes, Biagio Flammini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tetti Pesio and the Piani players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Tetti Pesio got a freekick which was hit by Biagio Flammini. The Tetti Pesio players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Piani were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Alvaro Ubriaco made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Alvaro Ubriaco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Biagio Ferretti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biagio Ferretti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Ubriaco, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute, Piani's Demetrio Sebastiani seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Demetrio Sebastiani the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Piani protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Demetrio Sebastiani had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piani fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Tetti Pesio. Biagio Ferretti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Ubriaco in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Nicolini in the 78th minute of play forced Tetti Pesio's goalkeeper Eraldo Allemandi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Nicolini struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Eraldo Allemandi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piani. Frank Nicolini succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 84th playminute. 90 minutes into the match, Piani's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Ubriaco came free, but Biagio Ferretti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Penna couldn't finish the play. Piani's Biagio Ferretti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Ubriaco in the 99th minute of play. The Piani supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Piani would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
