The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. San Massimo AFC's Alvaro Pasquino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save San Massimo AFC from getting a goal against them. Domenico Di Crescenzo scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anselmo Cipollini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dave Laurenti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Arrigo Zola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Alexander Coccolone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Domenico Di Crescenzo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Polanesi FC's Anselmo Cipollini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alessio Lauro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Anselmo Cipollini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Cipollini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domenico Di Crescenzo in the 23rd minute of play. Alessio Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Coccolone in the 33rd minute of play forced San Massimo AFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Pasquino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessio Lauro might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Cipollini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Polanesi FC had won after a very even match.
