Ennio Di Crescenzo's late challenge caught a Ponterotto AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ennio Di Crescenzo helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Spinelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Ferraro was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. After having played for 14 minutes, Ernesto Spinelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sesso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Spinelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Sesso's Ernesto Spinelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armando Ferraro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Amerigo Pasquino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Santacroce in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Alessandro Santacroce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amerigo Pasquino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Sesso's Ennio Di Crescenzo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Armando Ferraro. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. After 33 minutes Sesso's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ernesto Pierdomenico who took care of the corner kick. Federico Barone struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Amerigo Pasquino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponterotto AFC. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernesto Spinelli was the one to do the kick off. Ponterotto AFC's Armando Ferraro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Salemme in the 51st minute of play. Amos Pallini kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Ernesto Spinelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ernesto Spinelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ponterotto AFC booed when Sesso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Panico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Federico Barone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amerigo Pasquino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Alessandro Santacroce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sesso's Amerigo Pasquino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Federico Barone got free with Amerigo Pasquino in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 67 played minutes Sesso got a freekick which was hit by Florian Pani. If Alessandro Santacroce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Amerigo Pasquino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Sesso's zone, Alessandro Santacroce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amerigo Pasquino came out of the goal and Alessandro Santacroce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Sesso's Ennio Di Crescenzo got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alessandro Santacroce in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amerigo Pasquino saved Sesso from getting behind. In the 93rd minute Alessandro Santacroce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amerigo Pasquino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ponterotto AFC booed when Sesso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Spinelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ponterotto AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sesso.
