When Eugenio Mattei came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Lissone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenio Mattei couldn't finish the play. Comunardo Bulla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Di Santo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 21st minute Domenico Tana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Leoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Florian Sforza fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lissone's protests and gave Florian Sforza a yellow card for diving instead. 26 minutes into the game, Alex Sorrentino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lissone's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marano the free kick. After 26 played minutes Lissone got a freekick which was hit by Alex Sorrentino. Emilio Di Santo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Anselmo Di Federico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Marano getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Angelo Doris hit a great ball. Eugenio Mattei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Bulla having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Emilio Di Santo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domenico Tana was the one to do the kick off. The Marano fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Marano's Domenico Tana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Arrigo Raniolo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Leoni having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Eugenio Mattei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Emilio Di Santo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Augusto Farina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Lissone fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Lissone's Eugenio Mattei looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Sorrentino in the 83rd minute of play forced Marano's goalkeeper Comunardo Bulla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Emilio Di Santo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Lissone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Di Santo couldn't finish the play. Marano succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Lissone had controlled the match.
