But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ennio Fiori couldn't finish the play. When Demetrio Scudieri fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saiano's protests and gave Demetrio Scudieri a yellow card for diving instead. Demetrio Scudieri hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Arturo Santucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Scalia in the 46th minute of the match. The supporters of Cantalice booed when Saiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvise Balzani didn't get a good kick on the ball.
