The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th of the match, Cristiano Riva tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Carmine Rotondi got in the way and made a wonderful save. After having played for 12 minutes, Cristiano Riva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banne FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Riva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 minutes, Cesare Di Berardino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chiappino and the Banne FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Chiappino getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Banne FC's Carlo Nasuti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Como in the 29th minute of play. Chiappino's Arrigo Tabacco got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlo Nasuti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmondo Mei went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Banne FC's zone, Amerigo Como stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlo Nasuti came out of the goal and Amerigo Como tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amerigo Como to strike the kick off in the second half. When Amerigo Como came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Chiappino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amerigo Como couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Mei got free with Carlo Nasuti in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Chiappino's Carlo Nasuti threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amerigo Como, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edmondo Mei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Carlo Nasuti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Chiappino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arrigo Tabacco to maneuver through the defense. Enzo Righi struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Carmine Rotondi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banne FC. Carmine Rotondi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Righi in the 95th minute of play. Edmondo Mei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Carlo Nasuti made a huge save.
