Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amos Falcioni in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ennio Ceresoli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Zoff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Totaro was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, Ardea AFC's Ennio Fontana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arturo Totaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Amos Falcioni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ennio Ceresoli was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Zoff to strike the kick off in the second half. Amos Falcioni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ennio Ceresoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Poetto FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ardea AFC:s goal. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Ardea AFC. Alfredo Marulli stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arturo Totaro. 1-3. If Alfredo Zoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amos Falcioni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrea Di Crescenzo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ardea AFC booed when Poetto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Di Crescenzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Marulli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arturo Totaro. Poetto FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Poetto FC getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Corrado Di Virgilio hit a great ball. The Ardea AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Poetto FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
