The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Dino Corleone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. Coviolo's Armando Macchia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Coviolo from getting a goal against them. Carlo Albanesi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Salomone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes Firmiano AFC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Antonacci. Christian Scibilia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlo Albanesi. Firmiano AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Emilio Scarpa kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Coviolo's Christian Scibilia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 14th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Firmiano AFC. After 17 minutes, Cosimo Melani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coviolo and the Firmiano AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Firmiano AFC booed when Coviolo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosimo Melani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Firmiano AFC's Fulvio Gagliano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 21st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Coviolo. With a little luck, Coviolo's Armando Macchia got control of the ball when Dino Corleone tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alessio Minicucci kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Anthony Cinalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Macchia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Ferri kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Augusto Antonacci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Firmiano AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Antonacci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Macchia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dino Corleone struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Armando Macchia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Firmiano AFC. After 48 minutes, Augusto Antonacci mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Firmiano AFC and the Coviolo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Firmiano AFC's Augusto Antonacci got a free kick in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dennis Salomone to make the kick off. If Dino Corleone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Cinalli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dino Corleone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Cinalli in the 85th minute of play forced Coviolo's goalkeeper Armando Macchia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dino Corleone came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Firmiano AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Corleone couldn't finish the play. Armando Macchia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Cinalli in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Corleone in the 92nd minute of play forced Coviolo's goalkeeper Armando Macchia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessio Minicucci hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
