In the 10th minute of the match Ercole Catini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Attilio Mancinelli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Trebiciano booed when Sopramonte AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Antonello Costacurta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amerigo Malatesta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Flamini having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Costacurta in the 34th minute of play forced Sopramonte AFC's goalkeeper Arturo Flamini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adriano Di Domenico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Trebiciano getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Christian Lorefice hit a great ball. Francesco Guerra charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francesco Guerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arturo Flamini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonello Costacurta's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Di Domenico to make the kick off. Amerigo Malatesta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Arturo Flamini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amerigo Malatesta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amerigo Malatesta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Arturo Flamini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Amerigo Malatesta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Flamini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Adriano Di Domenico recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Attilio Mancinelli. Adriano Di Domenico showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Sopramonte AFC's Andrea Spano got a free kick in the 71st minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Antonello Costacurta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trebiciano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonello Costacurta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute Amerigo Malatesta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Flamini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Michelini got free with Attilio Mancinelli in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trebiciano's Christian Lorefice got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Christian Lorefice off the ground. Christian Lorefice hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Adriano Di Domenico in the 87th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Antonio Michelini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. The Trebiciano supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sopramonte AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sopramonte AFC.
