A collision led to Persichello FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Enzo Totaro hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Persichello FC's Ennio Marongiu got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 12th minute Ennio Marongiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Minotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Ennio Marongiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ettore Minotti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Davide Alessandrini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Monticelli Terme's Davide Petrella threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frank Cilli, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Enzo Totaro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 28th minute Ennio Marongiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Minotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ennio Marongiu came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Persichello FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ennio Marongiu couldn't finish the play. If Ennio Marongiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Davide Alessandrini came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Monticelli Terme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davide Alessandrini couldn't finish the play. Frank Cilli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Frank Cilli came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Monticelli Terme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Cilli couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ennio Marongiu to strike the kick off in the second half. When Frank Cilli fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monticelli Terme's protests and gave Frank Cilli a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Monticelli Terme got a freekick which was hit by Frank Cilli. Persichello FC's Davide Petrella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Cilli in the 70th minute of play. Dennis Casiraghi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide Petrella having to interfere. Felice Cangiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Ettore Minotti made a huge save. With a little luck, Monticelli Terme's Ettore Minotti got control of the ball when Felice Cangiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Cilli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Davide Alessandrini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Davide Petrella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Alessandrini in the 90th minute of play forced Persichello FC's goalkeeper Davide Petrella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Persichello FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Persichello FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
