The supporters of Casaleggio Novara AFC booed when Vezzano Ligure was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosimo Molinari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosimo Molinari's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosimo Rigoni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. When Biagio Sessa came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Casaleggio Novara AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Biagio Sessa couldn't finish the play. Eugenio Di Cesare scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferdinando Iovine, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Biagio Sessa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinando Iovine read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Biagio Sessa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Casaleggio Novara AFC's Cosimo Rigoni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Casaleggio Novara AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd minute Eugenio Di Cesare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinando Iovine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Vezzano Ligure defense, Eugenio Di Cesare kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferdinando Iovine. The Vezzano Ligure fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdinando Iovine should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Di Cesare in the 61st minute of play forced Vezzano Ligure's goalkeeper Ferdinando Iovine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vezzano Ligure's zone, Biagio Sessa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinando Iovine came out of the goal and Biagio Sessa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ettore Cancemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Cosimo Rigoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ettore Cancemi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Cosimo Rigoni made a huge save. After 74 played minutes, Vezzano Ligure's Fabio Natale shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cosimo Rigoni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vezzano Ligure reached it. In the 77th minute, Eugenio Di Cesare ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinando Iovine was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Christian Circelli hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Cosimo Rigoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eraldo Bassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Eugenio Di Cesare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casaleggio Novara AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Di Cesare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinando Iovine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Di Cesare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Casaleggio Novara AFC had won after a very even match.
