The Villa Opicina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 8th match minute, Villa Opicina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuele De Luca to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Brunetta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Celli having to interfere. A collision led to Marmirolo getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Corrado Piano hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Marmirolo got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Baruffa. Ferdinando Toccaceli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corrado Scarpone, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Corrado Scarpone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ferdinando Toccaceli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corrado Toninelli's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Corrado Scarpone ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinando Toccaceli was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When Alvaro Baruffa came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Marmirolo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Baruffa couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Corrado Scarpone managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Marmirolo fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Marmirolo's Alvaro Brunetta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that Corrado Scarpone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferdinando Toccaceli was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. If Alvaro Brunetta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corrado Toninelli struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ferdinando Toccaceli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Opicina. Antonio Brandolini kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
