In the 31stth minute of the game Fortunato Giampietro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Macerone's Ernesto Capaldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, San Pancrazio's Filippo Marziali sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernesto Capaldo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dario Cesareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Macerone's Domenico Zola dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domenico Zola to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in San Pancrazio's zone, Antonio Cimino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Doris came out of the goal and Antonio Cimino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortunato Giampietro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. San Pancrazio's Filippo Marziali got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Filippo Marziali came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the San Pancrazio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filippo Marziali couldn't finish the play. Antonio Cimino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Filippo Marziali managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Pancrazio's supporters rose to their feet, but Filippo Marziali was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Capaldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filippo Marziali could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Ernesto Capaldo made a huge save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
