Collesalvetti's Carter Ranieri tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Edoardo Orrore fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Collesalvetti's protests and gave Edoardo Orrore a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Collesalvetti getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Edoardo Orrore hit a great ball. Ettore Santacroce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carter Ranieri having to interfere. In the 14th match minute, Stella San Giovanni FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Sanna to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Stella San Giovanni FC's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Porro came free, but Edmondo Tieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carter Ranieri didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Stella San Giovanni FC's Alessandro Monaco shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. With an all-out effort, Collesalvetti's Edmondo Tieri threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Federico Porro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Ferruccio Mucci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Collesalvetti's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferruccio Mucci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmondo Tieri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Ferruccio Mucci made a precise shot to the right of Edmondo Tieri. Stella San Giovanni FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Ettore Santacroce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Collesalvetti's Carter Ranieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ettore Santacroce in the 48th minute of play. The Collesalvetti players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Stella San Giovanni FC were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Federico Porro to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amos Pani during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Stella San Giovanni FC booed when Collesalvetti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amos Pani didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Eraldo Giardini in the 61st minute really tested Carter Ranieri's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Edmondo Tieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferruccio Mucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Mucci in the 67th minute of play forced Stella San Giovanni FC's goalkeeper Edmondo Tieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Stella San Giovanni FC's zone, Ferruccio Mucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmondo Tieri came out of the goal and Ferruccio Mucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmondo Tieri came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Collesalvetti's Federico Porro. But to his dismay, Federico Porro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Federico Porro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmondo Tieri having to make a save. Carter Ranieri was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Ettore Santacroce capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ettore Santacroce really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. The Stella San Giovanni FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
