Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Cartagenova's Alberigo Verdini started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dino Felli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Vertemate Con Minoprio's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Verdini came free, but Alessio Guarrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dino Felli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto De Santis having to interfere. Alessio Guarrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Sardella in the 24th minute of play. If Dino Felli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes Cartagenova got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Sardella. Concetto De Santis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Fracassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Guarrera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberigo Verdini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. When Bernardo Brunetta came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Cartagenova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Brunetta couldn't finish the play. Amerigo Sardella's late challenge caught a Vertemate Con Minoprio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amerigo Sardella helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vertemate Con Minoprio booed when Cartagenova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Sardella didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Vertemate Con Minoprio's Fabrizio Massaro got a free kick in the 46th minute. With a little luck, Vertemate Con Minoprio's Alessio Guarrera got control of the ball when Enzo Falasca tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dino Felli made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Amerigo Sardella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cartagenova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amerigo Sardella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cartagenova's Concetto De Santis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Cartagenova from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the game, Alberigo Verdini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Alessio Guarrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd minute, Dave Scarcella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino Felli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Concetto De Santis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Augusto Fracassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dino Felli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 77 minutes into the match, Vertemate Con Minoprio's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Brunetta came free, but Alessio Guarrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, one of Vertemate Con Minoprio:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Cartagenova. Enzo Falasca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alessio Guarrera. 3-0. When Bernardo Brunetta came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Cartagenova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Brunetta couldn't finish the play. If Alberigo Verdini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute of the match, Dino Felli tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Concetto De Santis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cartagenova had won after a very even match.
