After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bromia! Ettore Imperatrice shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmine Liberatore in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Selvaggi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristiano Selvaggi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Tesone in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12thth minute of the game Carmine Liberatore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bromia's Cristiano Selvaggi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristiano Selvaggi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Tesone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Selvaggi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmine Liberatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vercelli's zone, Alfonso Domenghini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Attilio Bosso came out of the goal and Alfonso Domenghini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Selvaggi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Liberatore in the 23rd minute of play. Bromia's Cristiano Selvaggi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmine Liberatore in the 25th minute of play. Bernardo Tesone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Selvaggi having to interfere. Cristiano Selvaggi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Liberatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Meazza's late challenge caught a Vercelli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonso Meazza helped the player get up and apologised. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Bernardo Tesone sped through Bromia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristiano Selvaggi. Bernardo Tesone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, Vercelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermanno Monticelli to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Domenghini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Attilio Bosso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fausto Menna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfonso Domenghini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfonso Domenghini made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Andrea Cangiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vercelli and the Bromia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vercelli's Andrea Cangiano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After some careless play in the Bromia defense, Bernardo Tesone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristiano Selvaggi. The Bromia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Selvaggi should have stopped the shot. Bernardo Tesone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Selvaggi having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Alfonso Domenghini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bromia's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Domenghini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Attilio Bosso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Menna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Attilio Bosso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Vercelli's Enzo Zappacosta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristiano Selvaggi. That made the score 0-3 after 66 minutes of play. If Bernardo Tesone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carmine Liberatore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristiano Selvaggi having to make a save. Attilio Bosso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Domenghini went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vercelli had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
