The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cesare Melani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Ramoser having to interfere. Fado's Cesare Melani got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Federico Marongiu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Comunardo Ramoser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Melani in the 12th minute of play. Comunardo Ramoser dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alvaro Giacomini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romagnano FC's Cosimo Facchini got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dave Cagnetta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Giacomini in the 27th minute of play. Cesare Melani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Fado booed when Romagnano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Di Claudio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Beppe Juliano in the 37th minute. Beppe Juliano made a great header on Fado's corner, it was just that Romagnano FC's Comunardo Ramoser managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 39th match minute, Romagnano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Di Claudio to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute, Francesco Gerola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fado fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 47 minutes of play, Fado's Cesare Melani made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Comunardo Ramoser was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

With a little luck, Romagnano FC's Comunardo Ramoser got control of the ball when Cesare Melani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cosimo Facchini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Dave Cagnetta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute of the match Biagio Renzetti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dave Cagnetta skillfully saved the ball. In the 69th match minute, Romagnano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Renzetti to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Romagnano FC defense, Cesare Melani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Comunardo Ramoser. The Romagnano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Comunardo Ramoser should have stopped the shot. If Francesco Gerola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cosimo Facchini, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 95 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dave Cagnetta was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesare Melani got free with Comunardo Ramoser in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Fado players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
