The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Romagnano FC got a freekick which was hit by Edoardo Bolognesi. Antonio Puddu, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Giacomini in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Franceschi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Comunardo Ramoser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Farese in the 12th minute of play. Ladispoli were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Romagnano FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antonio Puddu took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Anselmo Battisti heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dario Croce during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes Romagnano FC got a freekick which was hit by Dario Croce. If Augusto Farese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Romagnano FC's Dario Croce got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Arturo Ciolli sped through Romagnano FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Comunardo Ramoser. Alvaro Giacomini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Franceschi having to make a save. Comunardo Ramoser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Ciolli, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Cosimo Facchini struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Flavio Franceschi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romagnano FC. With a little luck, Ladispoli's Flavio Franceschi got control of the ball when Cosimo Facchini tried to sneak it across the goal line. Augusto Farese's late challenge caught a Romagnano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Farese helped the player get up and apologised. Cosimo Facchini struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Flavio Franceschi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romagnano FC. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cosimo Facchini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Cosimo Facchini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Franceschi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dario Croce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Arturo Ciolli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Augusto Farese got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Farese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Comunardo Ramoser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Romagnano FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alvaro Giacomini hit a great ball. Antonio Puddu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Comunardo Ramoser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Comunardo Ramoser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Ciolli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavio Franceschi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cosimo Facchini went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Cosimo Facchini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Dario Croce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romagnano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Croce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Franceschi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cosimo Facchini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ladispoli's Flavio Franceschi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosimo Facchini in the 98th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
