The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Demetrio Sciascia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franco Maccarone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Forlano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ernesto Carbonetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franco Maccarone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beppe Orsi, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Florian Cruciani blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franco Maccarone having to make a save. Christian Forlano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Maccarone came out and tried to block the shot, but Christian Forlano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Pontecchio Marconi's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Toninelli came free, but Edmondo Di Palma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beppe Orsi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Maccarone came out and tried to block the shot, but Beppe Orsi slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 64th minute. If Ernesto Carbonetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fiordini FC's Franco Maccarone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Fiordini FC from getting a goal against them. When Beppe Orsi came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Pontecchio Marconi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Orsi couldn't finish the play. The Pontecchio Marconi supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pontecchio Marconi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
