Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Davide Spitaleri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sasso Marconi's supporters rose to their feet, but Davide Spitaleri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlo Abete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Davide Spitaleri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Davide Spitaleri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlo Abete having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Christian De Sanctis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Runco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sasso Marconi the free kick. Christian De Sanctis kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute of the match Corrado Volta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlo Abete skillfully saved the ball. Adriano Antonelli hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Fortunato Minotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Carlo Abete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sasso Marconi booed when Runco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achille Grilli didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fortunato Minotti in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlo Abete saved Runco from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Sasso Marconi's goalkeeper Aurelio Imperatore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franco Egger. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Runco's goalkeeper Carlo Abete, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Franco Egger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Aurelio Imperatore made a huge save. Runco's Franco Egger got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Fedele Rapone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Imperatore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 minutes of play, Sasso Marconi's Davide Spitaleri made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlo Abete was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aurelio Imperatore stood somewhat misplaced when Fedele Rapone came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 36 minute. If Alex Laudadio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fedele Rapone was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Egger in the 52nd minute of play forced Sasso Marconi's goalkeeper Aurelio Imperatore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Sasso Marconi's goal looked a bit too open when Fedele Rapone came free, but Aurelio Imperatore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelio Imperatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Egger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Sasso Marconi's Davide Spitaleri dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Aurelio Imperatore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fedele Rapone in the 63rd minute of the match. Carlo Abete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Spitaleri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th match minute, Runco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian De Sanctis to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Runco's goalkeeper Carlo Abete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fortunato Minotti. A collision led to Runco getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Fedele Rapone hit a great ball. When Sasso Marconi's Davide Spitaleri in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Runco's goalie prevented a goal. The Runco fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Runco's Franco Egger looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Franco Egger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Imperatore having to interfere. If Fortunato Minotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Davide Spitaleri came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Sasso Marconi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davide Spitaleri couldn't finish the play. The Runco players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
