After 3 played minutes Pinarella got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Ciccarelli. The long shot by Dino Bencivenni in the 4th minute really tested Cristiano Liberati's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Bruno Giolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Buffone, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. If Diego Rulli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Donato Migliorati managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pittolo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Migliorati was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Liberati breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felice Rosato kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Donato Migliorati fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Liberati having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Alfredo Antico reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristiano Liberati. The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of Pinarella booed when Pittolo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Sorge didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Migliorati got free with Cristiano Liberati in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Pinarella booed when Pittolo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Tabacchi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 played minutes Pittolo FC got a freekick which was hit by Dino Bencivenni. When Alfonso Buffone came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Pinarella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Buffone couldn't finish the play. After 42 minutes of play, Pinarella's Diego Rulli made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Giolo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Alfredo Antico fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cristiano Liberati, passed just outside the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Rulli to make the kick off. Cristiano Liberati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Migliorati in the 53rd minute of play. Pittolo FC's Bruno Giolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Rulli in the 54th minute of play. Cristiano Liberati stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Migliorati's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Alfredo Antico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Donato Migliorati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Davide Pascali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pittolo FC's Bruno Giolo got control of the ball when Alfonso Buffone tried to sneak it across the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfonso Buffone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Bruno Giolo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Giolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Rulli in the 88th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Diego Rulli took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Bruno Giolo to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Buffone in the 95th minute of play forced Pittolo FC's goalkeeper Bruno Giolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Pinarella players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
