The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Malalbergo AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cogorno AFC:s goal. The referee gave Cogorno AFC a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Franco Zaccardi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Malalbergo AFC's Fedele Piccoli. 1-0. Fabio Barresi struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Alvaro Curti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malalbergo AFC. Fedele Piccoli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Passerini in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Angelo Ferraris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fausto Ippoliti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Angelo Ferraris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cogorno AFC's zone, Fabio Barresi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Curti came out of the goal and Fabio Barresi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Malalbergo AFC booed when Cogorno AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Rossini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabio Barresi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Curti having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Cristoforo Rossini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Alvaro Curti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Ferraris in the 53rd minute of play. Fabio Barresi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Ferraris struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Aurelio Passerini took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fedele Piccoli. Fedele Piccoli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Carter Masci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Alvaro Curti made a huge save. Angelo Ferraris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Fabio Barresi could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Alvaro Curti however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Malalbergo AFC's zone, Fausto Ippoliti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fedele Piccoli came out of the goal and Fausto Ippoliti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Malalbergo AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cogorno AFC.
