When Ennio Mammarella came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Gaggiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ennio Mammarella couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Di Domenico struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Dario Puce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaggiano. Gaggiano's Domenico Panico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Franceschi in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Cimirlo getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Enrico De Sisti hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Mammarella in the 27th minute of play forced Cimirlo's goalkeeper Dario Puce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gaggiano's Fabrizio Pich got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Davide Signori sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gaggiano's Domenico Panico didn't even have to move. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Demetrio Munno during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cimirlo! If Alberto Di Cintio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gaggiano's zone, Ciro Franceschi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Panico came out of the goal and Ciro Franceschi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Di Domenico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alfredo Di Domenico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

51 minutes into the match, Gaggiano's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Di Cintio came free, but Domenico Panico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cimirlo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
