The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Chioggia's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Prosperi came free, but Filippo Adriano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fulvio Caporale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chioggia's Filippo Adriano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulvio Caporale in the 19th minute of play. Fulvio Caporale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Filippo Adriano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fulvio Caporale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filippo Adriano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Prosperi, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Concetto Negrini hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, San Bonico AFC's Fulvio Caporale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filippo Adriano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 39 minutes into the match, Anthony Manna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Selvaggi. San Bonico AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anthony Manna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 45 minutes into the match, Chioggia's Damiano Bevilacqua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Selvaggi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfredo Selvaggi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damiano Bevilacqua, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
