But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Mara couldn't finish the play. Ermanno Foddis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Camillo Biscotti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmondo Ciccarelli was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domenico Mara in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Camillo Biscotti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Camillo Biscotti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermanno Foddis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dino Montaldi fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villa Inferno's protests and gave Dino Montaldi a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot by Ciccio Giammaria from long distance, 40 minutes into the match, got Ferdinando Di Febo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 47 minutes into the match, Sarna AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Foddis came free, but Camillo Biscotti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Villa Inferno booed when Sarna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 75th minute of the match, Domenico Mara tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Camillo Biscotti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ferdinando Di Febo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sarna AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Villa Inferno had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
