Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Enrico Caniglia took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th match minute, Montecchio Emilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Talamo to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Maio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesare Morandin in the 8th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Claudio Colecchia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mantova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montecchio Emilia the free kick. In the 13th match minute, Montecchio Emilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Talamo to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Torelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Maio having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Montecchio Emilia's Enrico Caniglia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 32 minutes into the match, Mantova's goalkeeper Frank Pagliarini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Talamo. Mantova's Cesare Morandin got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesare Morandin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anselmo Torelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Maio having to interfere. Amedeo Napoleone hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. If Cesare Morandin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Cesare Morandin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Anselmo Maio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Montecchio Emilia's Elia Salerni got a free kick in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Mantova's Antonio Reali broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Anselmo Torelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Talamo in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Pagliarini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Enrico Caniglia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Pagliarini having to interfere. Anselmo Maio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Torelli in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Elia Salerni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 79 minutes, Cesare Morandin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mantova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesare Morandin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Montecchio Emilia's zone, Anselmo Torelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Maio came out of the goal and Anselmo Torelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Anselmo Torelli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montecchio Emilia's Anselmo Maio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, Mantova's Anselmo Maio threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anselmo Torelli, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Anselmo Torelli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anselmo Maio having to make a save. Enrico Caniglia kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Anselmo Maio was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Anselmo Torelli capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anselmo Torelli really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The Montecchio Emilia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mantova were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
