The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dino Polo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Scarpone in the 3rd minute of play. Francesco Scarpone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Dino Polo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vercelli FC's zone, Alberto De Palma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Polo came out of the goal and Alberto De Palma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dino Polo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto De Palma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Pozzo in the 10th minute of play forced Borgo Di Ronta AFC's goalkeeper Amedeo Bergamini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto De Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Dino Polo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Alfonso Cimino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vercelli FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borgo Di Ronta AFC the free kick. In the 16th minute, Francesco Scarpone made a precise shot to the right of Dino Polo. Vercelli FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 21st minute, Francesco Scarpone left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borgo Di Ronta AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 27th minute, Alberto De Palma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Borgo Di Ronta AFC's Francesco Scarpone got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Emanuele Rozzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vercelli FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! Davide Carlini walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 34th match minute, Vercelli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Cimino to maneuver through the defense. Amedeo Bergamini made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Attilio Dossena sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute Francesco Scarpone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Polo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto De Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Alberto De Palma made a precise shot to the right of Dino Polo. Vercelli FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Damiano Franzioni charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damiano Franzioni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vercelli FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Damiano Franzioni hit a great ball. After the first half Borgo Di Ronta AFC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexander Pozzo made a kick off. Amedeo Bergamini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attilio Dossena, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Alberto De Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Dino Polo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alexander Pozzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Attilio Dossena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vercelli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Dossena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Concetto Dionisi fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borgo Di Ronta AFC's protests and gave Concetto Dionisi a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Borgo Di Ronta AFC got a freekick which was hit by Concetto Dionisi. 63 minutes into the game, one of Vercelli FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dino Polo went to the wrong direction when Davide Carlini was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Alexander Pozzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amedeo Bergamini having to interfere. Amedeo Bergamini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Attilio Dossena in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Vercelli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmine Treglia to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Francesco Scarpone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Attilio Dossena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amedeo Bergamini. Borgo Di Ronta AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Attilio Dossena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Emanuele Rozzi hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Borgo Di Ronta AFC's Davide Carlini broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vercelli FC's Dino Polo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save Vercelli FC from getting a goal against them. Borgo Di Ronta AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
