Edoardo Punta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Ranieri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Cazzago's goal looked a bit too open when Fulvio Donato came free, but Eraldo Vespa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee showed Edoardo Punta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fulvio Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrea Cericola got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Faenza booed when Cazzago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Cericola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eraldo Vespa came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Faenza's Alberto Di Vito. But to his dismay, Alberto Di Vito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0.
