Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Beppe De Carolis started the match with the kick off. Bianco Carozza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beppe De Carolis in the 7th minute of play. Corrado Pietrini kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Antonello Della Francesca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezia's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonello Della Francesca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Collovati breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Giordani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bianco Carozza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Sopramonte's Beppe De Carolis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bianco Carozza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Frank Giordani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bianco Carozza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Attilio Rotolo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Achille Napoleone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Bruno Collovati tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabio Genta in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Collovati saved Sopramonte from getting behind. Attilio Rotolo kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezia's zone, Beppe De Carolis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bianco Carozza came out of the goal and Beppe De Carolis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Frank Giordani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sopramonte fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Frank Giordani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Genta made a kick off. Bruno Collovati made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Achille Napoleone sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th minute of the match Frank Pocobello shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Collovati showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Beppe De Carolis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Venezia's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe De Carolis came free, but Bianco Carozza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabio Genta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Collovati. That made the score 2-1 in the 82 minute of play. Fabio Genta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bruno Collovati came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabio Genta slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 89th minute. Bruno Collovati made an important save on a dangerous shot by Achille Napoleone in the 94th minute. The Venezia players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Sopramonte from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
