After 2 played minutes Ponticella FC got a freekick which was hit by Cosimo Barillari. 3 minutes into the match, Ponticella FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe De Carolis came free, but Ferdinando Eleuteri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Giordani in the 5thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ferdinando Eleuteri, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ponticella FC's goalkeeper Ferdinando Eleuteri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute Beppe De Carolis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinando Eleuteri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Anthony Marcon made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Collovati. Sopramonte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Bruno Collovati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Verdini, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Beppe De Carolis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Frank Giordani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe De Carolis in the 36th minute of play forced Ponticella FC's goalkeeper Ferdinando Eleuteri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdinando Eleuteri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppe De Carolis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Frank Giordani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anthony Marcon might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Collovati. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anthony Marcon ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Collovati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Verdini in the 46th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the game, Ponticella FC's Ernesto Verdini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Collovati made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anthony Marcon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Sopramonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Fallito to maneuver through the defense. When Anthony Marcon came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Ponticella FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Marcon couldn't finish the play. In the 55th match minute, Sopramonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attilio Rotolo to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Verdini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 59 minutes of play Sopramonte's Attilio Rotolo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th minute, Attilio Rotolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Anthony Marcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 67 minutes, Aldo Fontanive mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sopramonte and the Ponticella FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sopramonte getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Aldo Fontanive hit a great ball. Bruno Collovati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Marcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 72 minutes of play, Ponticella FC's Ernesto Verdini made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Collovati was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anthony Marcon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Collovati having to interfere. When Dave Trentini fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sopramonte's protests and gave Dave Trentini a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sopramonte getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Dave Trentini hit a great ball. If Anthony Marcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 93 minutes, Beppe De Carolis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sopramonte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beppe De Carolis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 94 played minutes Ponticella FC got a freekick which was hit by Attilio Nobili.
