Aurelio Castrucci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabio Genta's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Fabio Genta struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Aurelio Castrucci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezia. After 13 played minutes San Bonico AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donato Di Cicco. With a little luck, San Bonico AFC's Aurelio Castrucci got control of the ball when Achille Napoleone tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabio Genta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corrado Ronconi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Donato Di Cicco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Venezia's Bianco Carozza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achille Pavia in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of San Bonico AFC booed when Venezia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amos Angelini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aurelio Castrucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Genta in the 42nd minute of the match. Aurelio Castrucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Genta in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Genta made a kick off. Achille Napoleone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Castrucci having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Achille Napoleone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezia's supporters rose to their feet, but Achille Napoleone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Castrucci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Achille Napoleone took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Castrucci. Aurelio Castrucci dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Fabio Genta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to San Bonico AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Enzo Schirone hit a great ball. Aurelio Castrucci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Achille Napoleone went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Bianco Carozza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achille Pavia, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The supporters of Venezia booed when San Bonico AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Domina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Venezia's Achille Napoleone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Castrucci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Achille Napoleone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Aurelio Castrucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
