The tension between the Malborghetto and the Roata Rossi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute of the match Augusto Canzano shot from a long distance. Malborghetto's Donato Toccaceli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Antonio Scannella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato Toccaceli was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Roata Rossi's Aldo Facchetti got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Antonio Scannella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roata Rossi's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonio Scannella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Toccaceli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antonio Scannella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Malborghetto's zone, Aldo Facchetti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Toccaceli came out of the goal and Aldo Facchetti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Carmine Fino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bianco Desiderio. The goal made the score 1-1. Diego Costacurta's late challenge caught a Roata Rossi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Costacurta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Malborghetto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Costacurta to maneuver through the defense. When Roata Rossi's Aldo Facchetti, in the 41st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Roata Rossi. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aldo Facchetti made a kick off. During the 68th minute of the match Diego Costacurta completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Diego Costacurta a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Roata Rossi booed when Malborghetto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Costacurta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Toccaceli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aldo Facchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Donato Toccaceli managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Roata Rossi's Antonio Scannella fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 1-2 became the score in the 73rd minute when Aldo Facchetti elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Carmine Fino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
