Ennio Spione's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edoardo Maccarone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Lavagnola's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Guerra came free, but Achille Marra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelio Miccio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edoardo Maccarone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Achille Marra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Papetti in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Livorno AFC's Fabio Guerra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Achille Marra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Achille Marra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Papetti in the 23rd minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Flavio Papetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Livorno AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Papetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabio Guerra struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Achille Marra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Livorno AFC. After having played for 42 minutes, Flavio Papetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Livorno AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Papetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Cristoforo Tesone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lavagnola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Livorno AFC the free kick. A collision led to Lavagnola getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Cristoforo Tesone hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Flavio Papetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Livorno AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Papetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achille Marra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aurelio Miccio to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53rd play minutes Aurelio Miccio shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Edoardo Maccarone and just under the crossbar into goal. Fabio Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Marra having to interfere. Edmondo Quattrocchi kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Achille Marra acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 67th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Arturo Michelini. Fabio Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Marra having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Fabio Guerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Achille Marra. Fabio Guerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Edoardo Maccarone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ennio Spione's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. When Fabio Guerra in the 83rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Achille Marra kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Edoardo Maccarone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ennio Spione in the 87th minute of the match. In the 93rd match minute, Livorno AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Rapone to maneuver through the defense. Livorno AFC's Edoardo Maccarone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennio Spione in the 95th minute of play.
