The referee ignored Rozzano FC's protests and gave Flavio Bruno a yellow card for diving instead. Domenico Galli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dino Di Fabio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Martini having to interfere. In the 24th minute Domenico Galli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Scacchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domenico Galli was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Rozzano FC's zone, Amerigo Antonini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felice Scacchi came out of the goal and Amerigo Antonini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Domenico Galli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Scacchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felice Scacchi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenico Galli in the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rozzano FC's Diego Piola got a free kick in the 71st minute. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Dino Di Fabio sped through Buffalora's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudio Martini. If Achille Morini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
