Match Report

Stadio Pisa
Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arturo Zuccarini kicked off to start the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Arturo Zuccarini kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Donato Carulli. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Alessandro Pollastrini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Petrosino in the 9th minute of the match. Frank Petrosino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 minutes of play, Dosso Cavallino AFC's Biagio Bardella made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alessandro Pollastrini was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute, Arturo Zuccarini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Dosso Cavallino AFC's goalkeeper Donato Carulli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donato Carulli made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cristiano Pizzi sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute Carlo Alonzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Pollastrini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Terenzi hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 32 played minutes Pisa got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Pizzi. In the 33rdth minute of the game Frank Petrosino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pisa's Alessandro Pollastrini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Frank Petrosino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dosso Cavallino AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Petrosino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frank Petrosino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Carulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Zuccarini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Dosso Cavallino AFC defense, Cristiano Pizzi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Carulli. The Dosso Cavallino AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Carulli should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Frank Petrosino made the kick off in the second half. Camillo Orrore charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camillo Orrore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Camillo Orrore hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Pisa's Arturo Zuccarini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donato Carulli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Pisa getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Alberto Terenzi hit a great ball. Alessandro Pollastrini came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Dosso Cavallino AFC's Frank Petrosino. But to his dismay, Frank Petrosino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 67 minutes into the match, Dosso Cavallino AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Zuccarini came free, but Donato Carulli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alessandro Di Fonzo's late challenge caught a Dosso Cavallino AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alessandro Di Fonzo helped the player get up and apologised. 73 minutes into the game, one of Pisa:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pisa's Arturo Zuccarini got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Zuccarini in the 81st minute of play forced Dosso Cavallino AFC's goalkeeper Donato Carulli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Carlo Alonzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Pollastrini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Petrosino in the 88th minute of the match. After 91 minutes of play, Pisa's Cristiano Pizzi made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donato Carulli was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristiano Pizzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Donato Carulli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
