But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Battisti couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the game, Ercole Orioli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grugliasco AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Saliceto the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Grugliasco AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ercole Orioli to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Battisti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Concetto De Vecchis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of Grugliasco AFC booed when Rio Saliceto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrico Punta didn't get a good kick on the ball.
